2010 Weddings
As we planned our new Downriver photo studio, we wanted to offer exceptional wedding photography. But it quickly became obvious that the best choice would be to bring in a wedding photographer who offers the same style, approach, personality and experience as we offer in portraiture and sports photography.
That person is Dennis Slagle, Greg’s longtime friend. They met at the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit. Dennis went on to follow the path of wedding photography; Greg pursued sports and portraiture. Dennis uses a photojournalistic approach in catching the tender moments, the important details and the joyous surprises at each wedding he photographs.
We know what you’re probably thinking: Why doesn’t Greg shoot weddings, too? There are a couple of reasons. First, experience plays a huge part in any aspect of photography. Greg’s strengths lie mostly in portraiture and sports. That’s where he’s made his name and built his reputation. In addition, the fluid scheduling of professional sports means that Greg could not commit to shooting a wedding six months to a year in advance because there’s a possibility it might land on the same day as a major sporting event, such as the Stanley Cup Finals or the NBA Finals.
Dennis has about 20 years of wedding photography experience. He has a knack for spotting and capturing the moments you’ll always want to remember, such as when the father of the bride takes his daughter’s hand to lead her down the aisle, the broad grin of the flower girl as petals fall to the ground, the tears of joy rolling down the groom’s face when he first sees his bride.
Among Dennis’ most valuable qualities is his friendly, easygoing demeanor. He has a way for making even the most nervous bride feel comfortable when he’s taking her picture. He is so much more than just a photographer. He’s someone you’ll enjoy working with, and will actually want at your wedding.
